| Résumé | Introduction : s’il y a toujours eu des pères, leur place a évolué au cours du temps. La paternité est un sujet d’actualité mis en avant par différentes mesures en France. Les fonctions paternelles décrites indiquent l’importance du père dans le développement de l’enfant. La pandémie du Covid-19 a remué différents champs de la société et notamment celui de la parentalité. Matériel et méthode : 6 pères dont l’enfant est né en période de pandémie du Covid-19 ont été interrogés lors d’entretiens individuels basés sur un guide d’entretien. Résultats : les pères ont vécu leur paternité de manière différente selon les périodes du confinement. Le séjour à la maternité était un moment important pour eux, mais certains en ont été privés. Les premières semaines à la maison ont été fondatrices dans le lien père-enfant notamment grâce à la présence quasi continue des pères et à la mise en place du lien physique et d’habitudes. Un manque d’aide a été soulevé mais une intimité intra familiale a été permise grâce au confinement. Tous retiennent une expérience positive malgré les conditions. Discussion : le confinement a eu des impacts bénéfiques mais aussi dommageables pour les pères. Une grande part d’inconnu lié à l’expérience de la paternité dans un contexte particulier a bousculé les pères. Des solutions à court terme ont été mises en place, mais insuffisantes sur le long terme. Cette période a souligné la place du père mais l’évolution de cette dernière n’est pas terminée. |
| Résumé en anglais | Introduction : if there have always been fathers, their place has evolved over time. Paternity is a hot topic highlighted by various measures in France. The paternal functions described indicate the importance of the father in the development of the child. The Covid-19 pandemic has stirred up different fields of society, in particular that of parenthood. Materiel and methods : 6 fathers whose child was born during the Covid-19 pandemic were interviewed in individual interviews based on an interview guide Results : the fathers experienced their fatherhood differently depending on the periods of confinement. The stay at the maternity ward was an important moment for them, but some were deprived of it. The first weeks at home were foundational in the father-child bond, in particular thanks to the almost continuous presence of the fathers and the establishment of the physical bond and habits. A lack of help was raised but intra-family intimacy was allowed thanks to the confinement. All retain a positive experience despite the conditions. Discussion : confinement has had beneficial but also harmful impacts for fathers. A large part of the unknown linked to the experience of fatherhood in a particular context has shaken up the fathers. Short-term solutions have been put in place, but insufficient in the long term. This period underlined the place of the father, but the evolution of the latter is not over. |
