Résumé en anglais

On 2016, 6.500 orders was registered, just for the entrance control. That was 32% more than on 2015. In the same time the number of non-compliant products was halved. This results on a big part of the products being on the lower control level. Nowadays, that’s common in Eolane to find a product being in the lower control level since ten to thirty orders. Each order in the same control level is controlled regardless of the number of orders received without any flaw. A product being in “reduced” control since fourty orders is addressed the same way than with only one. That’s a waste of time. To counter that, Eolane found two solutions: a new lighter control level, and a delegation of the entrance control on some chosen suppliers. Both of them hypothetically allow to save a precious time. But what would be the gain? How much time will be saved by these solutions ? That’s precisely the subject of my internship. Method : The entrance control’s Access database was my basis. From there I extracted all the data, and analyzed it on an Excel spreadsheet. I worked on partitioned sheets, each with a different goal. Then when needed I combined the data of some different sheets. I analyzed different data types during my internship. What I first worked with was simple statistics, like the repartition of the products by classes, or the percentage of compliant products each year since 2014. Then I used a Dynamic Pivot Table to classify the data the way I want. I often copy-pasted the DPT because I can’t manipulate that much the data. To decide whether the time saved is enough or not, I will make a ratio between the time saved and the time available on a whole work year. If the gain is more than the percent scale, I’ll consider it as relevant. Results : Let’s begin the results part with the lightened level of control. That was the simplest data to analyze. If I take 2016 as my statistic’s basis, Eolane can save 68hrs. That’s 3.8% of a year. The second main analysis was about the delegation of the entrance control. That was a little bit more complicated to obtain my results. But I found that Eolane would hypothetically economize 76hrs; 4.25% of a year. Both of these results make a total gain of 144hrs, 8.05% of a year.
