1,2 millions de personnes âgées dépendantes sont atteintes de la maladie d’Alzheimer en France (Giraudet & Cantegreil-Kallen, 2016 ; Kerhervé, Gay, & Vrignaud, 2008). Le terme d’aidant familial émerge, notamment autour de cette maladie, et les aidants familiaux prennent une place essentielle dans la prise en charge des malades, ce qui n’est pas sans risque pour eux. Ainsi, de nombreuses études ont été réalisées autour de cette problématique. Dans la présente étude exploratoire, nous centrons nos recherches autour des petits-enfants, au sens générationnel du terme, des personnes âgées atteintes de la maladie d’Alzheimer ayant un de leur parent aidant familial. Nous nous questionnons sur cette fonction d’aidant familial qui semble contribuer à façonner la représentation du vieillissement de la génération suivante. Grâce à nos cinq participants, nous nous rendons compte qu’ils se construisent une représentation négative de leur propre vieillissement centrée le versant pathologique et les symptômes associés. Ainsi, il serait intéressant de poursuivre ce travail avec un échantillon de participants plus importants de manière à pouvoir confirmer ou infirmer nos résultats, et le comparer avec un travail similaire à élaborer autour d’une maladie neurodégénérative autre que celle d’Alzheimer.
1.2 Million dependent elderly suffer from Alzheimer's disease in France (Giraudet and Cantegreil-Kallen, on 2016; Kerhervé, Gay, and Vrignaud, on 2008). The term of family helper emerges mainly around this disease and the family caregivers take an essential place in the care of the sick persons, which is not risk-free for them. This way, a lof of studies were conducted about this problem. In the present exploratory study, our searches are focused on the grandchildren (in the generational sens of the term) of elderly who suffer from Alzheimer's disease and having one of their parent as a family helper. We question about this role of family helper wich seems to contribute to shape the representation of the ageing of the next generation. Thanks to our five participants, we realize that they develop a negativ representation of their own ageing focus on its pathological side and on the symptoms associated with this ageing. So, it would be interesting to continue this work with a larger sample of participants to confirm or refute our results, and to compare it with a similar work about an other neurodegenerative disorder than Alzheimer’s disease.
