| Résumé | Les expositions sont devenus, depuis le milieu du XXe siècle et au sein de la valorisation des archives, une activité de référence. Notre étude portera donc sur les expositions organisées par les archives départementales françaises depuis 2005 et plus particulièrement sur l'action de la direction des archives et du patrimoine de l'Aube en matière d'exposition. La direction des archives et du patrimoine de l'Aube est créée en 2012 à la suite de la fusion des archives départementales de l'Aube et de la direction du développement culturel. Dans les missions attribuées à cette nouvelle direction par l'arrêté départemental n°2015-1277 figurent la « communication et la valorisation des documents d'archives » par les expositions. Notre principale hypothèse de départ était un développement de l'exposition au sein des services d'archives départementales, ce qui se traduirait par une augmentation du nombre de services organisant chaque année des expositions mais aussi par un accroissement du nombre annuel de visiteurs. Travailler sur les expositions permettait également de définir quels étaient les types de sujets et de thématiques privilégiés par les services organisant des expositions, ainsi que les différents partenariats possibles dans ce domaine. Ce travail a permis de dresser un bilan de la situation actuelle des expositions en archives départementales. Parmi les sujets d'expositions possibles, sont privilégiés ceux ayant un lien avec les commémorations nationales ou ceux se rattachant à l'histoire locale du département. Les partenariats, quant à eux, se développent, le nombre d'expositions organisées en collaboration augmentant chaque année. Le nombre de services d'archives départementales organisant des expositions grandit effectivement, de même que le nombre de visiteurs qui augmente chaque année. En revanche, le nombre d'expositions organisées annuellement diminue, soit en raison de restriction budgétaire, soit en raison d'une évolution dans la conception de l'exposition en elle-même qui s'étoffe, dure plus longtemps et demande donc plus de moyens, ce qui en limite le nombre. |
| Résumé en anglais | Since the middle of the 20th century and within the valorization of the archives, exhibitions became an activity of reference. That’s why our study is based on the exhibitions organized by the French departmental archives' service since 2005 and more particularly on the action of the direction of the archives and the heritage of the Aube in terms of exhibitions. The direction of the archives and the heritage of the Aube was created in 2012 following the fusion of the service of departmental archives of the Aube and the direction of cultural development. With the departmental decree n°2015-1277 new missions have appeared for this direction: the “communication and the valorization of the documents of archives” thanks to the exhibitions. Our principal starting hypothesis stated the development of the exhibition within the services of departmental archives. The result would be the increase amongst services organizing exhibitions each year and also an increase in the number of visitors each year. Working on the exhibitions also enabled us to define which types of subjects and themes were chosen by the services organizing the exhibitions, as well as the various partnerships which were possible in this field. This work enabled us to answer our first questions and also to make an assessment about the current situation of the exhibitions in departmental records. Among the possible subjects of exhibitions, the subjects chosen were related to the national commemorations or to the local history of the department. As the number of exhibitions organized in collaboration are increasing each year, partnerships are also developing. Indeed, the number of services of departmental archives organizing exhibitions grows, as the number of visitors also increases each year. On the other hand, the number of exhibitions organized each year falls, either because of budgetary restrictions, or because of an evolution in the conception of the exhibition in itself which is improved, lasts more time and requires more means, which limits their number. |
