| Résumé | L’histoire des bibliothécaires universitaires est globalement peu étudiée – surtout mentionnée dans des réflexions plus larges sur la profession de bibliothécaire ou sur les bibliothèques d’universités. Ce mémoire a vocation à poser quelques jalons de l’histoire et de l’évolution de ce métier : de 1870 à 1970, en se limitant à une étude des bibliothécaires universitaires de province (Paris étant comme toujours un cas à part). |
| Résumé en anglais | The history of French University Librarians is not very well known. It is generally mentioned as a part of greater thoughts about the profession of Librarian or about the history of University Libraries. This dissertation tries to describe the history and the evolution of this profession, from 1870 to 1970. Only University Librarians of the provinces are studied (Paris is as always a special case). |
