Cette étude s’est intéressée à l’analyse d’une cohorte de patients âgés de plus de 70 ans recevant des CNO prescrits en ambulatoire. Il s’agit d’une étude observationnelle, rétrospective, de cohorte, sur analyse de dossiers d’une MSP rurale. Le critère de jugement principal était la durée d’hospitalisation moyenne par patient par an. 68 dossiers de patients ayant plus de 70 ans et ayant eu une primo prescription de CNO ont été analysés. Le nombre de jours d’hospitalisations toute durée par an était de 5,7 [0;20,7]. La durée médiane de suivi était de 567 jours [265,5;829,5], avec une prescription de CNO sur 47,3% du temps du suivi en moyenne. Pour conclure, cette étude montre le rôle central du médecin généraliste dans l’usage des CNO en ambulatoire notamment leur primo-prescription, chez des patients ayant un niveau de comorbidités élevé. Elle retrouve une durée d’hospitalisation par an plus courte que dans la littérature (cohortes hospitalières).
This study analysed a cohort of patients over the age of 70 receiving ONS prescribed on an outpatient basis. It is a retrospective, observational cohort study based on an analysis of medical records from a rural healthcare centre. The primary endpoint was the average length of hospitalisation per year. 68 medical records of patients over the age of 70 who had received a first prescription for ONS were analysed. The number of days of hospitalisation of any duration per year was 5.7 [0;20.7]. The median follow-up period was 567 days [265.5;829.5], with ONS prescribed 47.3% of the time during follow-up. In conclusion, this study highlights the central role of general practitioners in the use of ONS in outpatient settings, particularly their initial prescription, in patients with a high level of comorbidities. It finds a shorter length of hospitalisation per year than in the literature (hospital cohorts).
