| Résumé | Avec les récentes créations des séries Pose et It’s a Sin, le thème du SIDA et la représentation de la crise du SIDA aux Etats-Unis et en Grande-Bretagne est revenu dans les productions grand public en tant que sujet principal. Plus de 40 ans après le début de l’épidémie, les représentations audiovisuelles de la crise du SIDA, bien que rare, ont évolué en accord avec les changements sociétaux, mettant en valeur une plus grande diversité et en remettant en question le silence et la stigmatisation qui entourent la maladie dans la communauté LGBTQ+ et sa mémoire. Ce mémoire explore donc différentes représentations de la crise du SIDA venant de films et séries britanniques et américaines du 21e siècle afin d’analyser le portrait qui est dressé de l’épidémie et de la communauté queer, ainsi que des personnes séropositives et vivant avec le SIDA, et son évolution avec le temps et d’une forme à l’autre. |
| Résumé en anglais | With the recent creations of the TV shows Pose and It’s a Sin, the topic of AIDS and depiction of the AIDS crisis in the US and Britain came back to mainstream productions as a main subject. Over 40 years after the beginning of the epidemic, on-screen representations of the AIDS crisis, although rare, have evolved in accordance with societal changes, showcasing more diversity and challenging the silence and stigma surrounding the disease in the LGBTQ+ community and its memory. This thesis explores therefore different US and British film and TV show representations of the AIDS crisis in the 21st century to analyse the portrayal of the epidemic and of the queer community, as well as of seropositive people and people with AIDS, and its evolution with time and from one format to the other. |
