| Résumé | La musique folk et traditionnelle est souvent considérée comme étant un reflet culturel d'une société. Ce mémoire a donc pour but d'analyser le renouveau de la musique folk et traditionnelle en Ecosse et en Bretagne, qui a débuté après la Seconde Guerre Mondiale vers la fin des années 50 et qui s'est intensifié principalement dans les années 70 et 80, période également fortement marquée par de nombreux mouvements protestataires. L’objet d’étude se portera donc principalement sur les années 70 et 80 afin de mettre en lumière la place de la musique folk et son implication dans les divers mouvements protestataires, tels que les protestations sociales, politiques, économiques, environnementales, mais également dans la montée du nationalisme et du régionalisme ainsi que dans le mouvement indépendantiste écossais et breton. |
| Résumé en anglais | Folk and traditional music has often been considered as a cultural reflection of a society. This dissertation will therefore focus on the Folk Revival in Scotland and Brittany which began after the Second World War from the end of the 1950s and which mostly intensified in the 1970s and 1980s, a period which also saw numerous protest movements happening. The research will therefore mainly focus on the 1970s and 1980s in order to shine a light on the importance of folk music and its involvement in the various protest movements, whether social, political, economical, environmental, but also in the rise of nationalism and regionalism as well as in the rise of the Scottish and Breton independence movements. |
