| Résumé | Les descendants des victimes juives de la Shoah entre mémoire, transmission et attachement aux archives, cherchent à retourner sur les traces de leur famille disparue et décimée par la Shoah. Ils se lancent ainsi dans une quête sur leurs origines en s’appuyant sur les archives afin de reconstituer leur histoire familiale. Il nous semble alors intéressant d’étudier la relation que les générations postérieures aux victimes juives de la Shoah, deuxièmes et troisièmes générations, entretiennent avec les archives. L’objectif est de démontrer que la quête identitaire par le biais des archives donne du sens dans la (re)construction de soi et à des conséquences dans la vie des individus. Dans une première partie, il est question de la construction d’une mémoire collective et des souvenirs de la Shoah, de la transmission entre traumatismes, absence d’héritage et libération de la parole ainsi qu’à l’attachement aux archives personnelles et à leur diffusion. Dans une seconde partie, notre étude porte sur le processus d’enquête et à la place des archives dans la (re)construction de soi en s’appuyant sur un corpus de sept ouvrages édités entre 2020-2023 (romans, récits autobiographiques, mémoire de fin d’étude) traitant tous de la recherche du passé familial et de son identité. Il s’agit de s’intéresser au concept de « post-mémoire » qui conduit à un besoin incessant des descendants à effectuer des recherches, comprendre les motivations, observer l’importance des archives familiales. Enfin, il s’agit de traiter le processus d’enquête et de ses effets sur les individus entre impacts émotionnels et identitaires. |
| Résumé en anglais | The descendants of the Jewish victims of the Holocaust between memory, transmission and attachment to the archives, seek to return to the traces of their family disappeared and decimated by the Holocaust. In this way, they embark on a search for their origins by relying on archives to reconstruct their family history. It seems interesting to us to study the relationship between the second and third generations of the Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the archives. The objective is to demonstrate that the quest for identity through the archives gives meaning to the (re)construction of oneself and to consequences in the lives of individuals. The first part deals with the construction of a collective memory and memories of the Holocaust, the transmission between trauma, lack of inheritance and freedom of speech, as well as attachment to personal archives and their dissemination. In a second part, our study focuses on the investigation process and the place of the archives in the (re)construction of oneself by relying on a corpus of seven works published between 2020-2023 (novels, autobiographical narratives, final master’s project) all dealing with the search for the family past and its identity. It is a question of being interested in the concept of «post-memory» which leads to an incessant need of the descendants to carry out research, to understand the motivations, to observe the importance of the family archives. Finally, it is a matter of dealing with the investigation process and its effects on individuals between emotional impacts and identities. |
