| Résumé | Notre objectif était de déterminer les caractéristiques initiales associées à une mortalité à 12 mois toutes causes confondues chez les personnes âgées hospitalisées pour une infection à COVID-19. Des variables cliniques et biologiques ont été collectées de façon standardisée à l'admission pour chaque patient ≥75 ans admis dans le service de gériatrie du Centre Hospitalo-Universitaire d'Angers, France, entre mars et juin 2020. Parmi 97 patients recrutés dans l'étude GERIA-COVID (88.0±5.4 ans; 49.5% femmes), 36 (37.1%) sont morts dans les 12 mois. Notre arbre de classification a retrouvé 5 profils de risque de décès à 12 mois, basés sur la combinaison de facteurs tels que l’âge, l’usage de traitements pour l’hypertrophie bénigne de prostate, la notion de cancer ou d’une pathologie respiratoire. |
| Résumé en anglais | Our objective was to determine the baseline characteristics associated with all-cause mortality at 12 months in older adults hospitalized with COVID-19. Clinical and biological variables on hospital admission were standardizedly collected for all consecutive patients ≥75years admitted for COVID-19 in the geriatric acute care unit of Angers University Hospital, France, between March-June 2020. Among 97 patients enrolled in the GERIA-COVID (mean, 88.0±5.4y; 49.5% women), 36 (37.1%) died during the 12-month follow-up. The classification tree found 5 profiles of 12-month mortality risk, based on various combinations of age, use of benign prostatic hyperplasia treatment, history of malignancies and respiratory disease. |
