La Libération constitue un moment clé de l’histoire française, naturellement intégré au calendrier des commémorations nationales. Ces dernières ont pour vocation de rappeler un passé partagé et de rendre un hommage collectif. À ce titre, elles deviennent des vecteurs essentiels de mémoire et d’identité et constituent des moments privilégiés pour les services d’archives, qui peuvent affirmer leur rôle de préservation et de transmission de la mémoire. Au-delà de l’étude d’un cas concret, celui du 80e anniversaire de la Libération aux archives départementales du Nord, ce mémoire propose une réflexion plus large sur le rôle des archives dans la construction de la mémoire collective et du sentiment d’appartenance à un territoire. Il s’agit d’analyser la manière dont la valorisation des documents d’archives contribue à une transmission innovante et accessible de l’histoire, tout en réunissant autour d’un même projet archivistes et visiteurs, spécialistes et amateurs.
The Liberation is a key moment in French history and is naturally included in the calendar of national commemorations. These commemorations aim to recall a shared past and to pay collective tribute. As such, they become essential vectors of memory and identity, and are privileged moments for archive services, which can assert their role in preserving and transmitting memory. Beyond the study of a concrete case, that of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation at the departmental archives of the North, this report proposes a broader reflection on the role of archives in the construction of collective memory and the feeling of belonging to a territory. The aim is to analyze the way in which the enhancement of archive documents contributes to an innovative and accessible transmission of history, while bringing together archivists and visitors, specialists and amateurs around the same project.
